Online Events

Each quarter, AODA offers one or more zoom-based events.  Some of these events are for our members and may be geared towards those in certain degrees (candidates, apprentices, GCC members) while others may be open to the broader druid community.  Please check back on this page as we update it every quarter.

AODA Community Calls – Spring 2023

Spring Equinox Order-Wide Ritual Call – April 12, 8:30pm – 10:00pm EDT.  Come together as a community to discuss the Spring Equinox Air blessing ritual. In this call we will have space for everyone to share their experiences about the AODA Spring Equinox Air Blessing.  We will then talk through the cycle of four rituals we’ve done over the last year and discuss the possibility of open-sourcing our earth healing rituals to invite participation beyond AODA.

Apprentice Call hosted by Claire Schosser – May 4th, 8:30 – 10:00pm EDT.  Claire will be offering discussion and support for AODA Apprentices.

New  Candidate Call, hosted by Dana O’Driscoll – June 14th, 8:30 – 10:00 EDT. In this call, Dana O’Driscoll will demonstrate the AODA’s Grove Opening, Sphere of Protection, and Grove closing rituals.  We will discuss some of the most common challenges candidates have while working through AODA’s curriculum, and also have plenty of time for anyone to ask questions.  All members are welcome to attend.

AODA Community Calls – Winter 2023

Members of the AODA and friends of the AODA are welcome to all calls.

In this quarter, we have three Zoom-based workshops—all are open to all AODA members and friends of the AODA.

Winter Solstice Order-Wide Ritual + Spring Equinox Ritual Planning Call – January 23, 8:30pm – 10:00pm.  We will have a debrief call on January 23rd, 8:30-10:00pm EST. This will allow us to come together as a community and share our experiences. In our January 23rd call, we will also begin to plan the Spring Equinox ritual (which has not yet been designed).

Addressing Climate Grief and Climate Anxiety for Druids – A Workshop for all AODA members – February 23, 8:30 – 10:00pm. As the world is suffering from more weather extremes, and as many of our members are now seeing the direct impacts of climate change in our backyards, AODA recognizes the importance of providing tools and creating spaces for support. Many members talk about these issues openly and frequently, and as such, we wanted to provide extra support. AODA has hired a climate grief/anxiety specialist, Meg Mattingly, to give our membership a workshop to develop resources, tools, and strategies to help us navigate these challenges—both as individuals and as a community.

Introduction to Animism for Druids – March 12th, 7pm – 8:30pm Eastern
With Alisha Jondreau, Archdruid of Air
What is Animism? What makes a person an Animist? Can Animism be more than a philosophy? In this introductory workshop, we will be looking at what Animism is, and the different forms it can take. We will learn how we can observe Animist behavior in children, others, and ourselves regarding the natural world, and human-made objects. Last but not least, we will learn how we begin to make Animism a part of our druid practice, and day-to-day lives
